Marco Island

We had a great time with Deniz and Ayla (and family) on Marco Island!The pool was a great hit with the kids.

Well, Wes mostly enjoyed it. Hours after this photo was taken and a trip to the ER, we learned that Wesley was so tired (you could say delerious) because he had viral pnemonia. So if he looks a little pathetic in some of the photos, that's why. At the same time, Ayla had an external ear infection. This could have been a recipe for distaster, but we managed to have a good time and enjoy each other's company despite the illnesses. Who knew that Marco was a wildlife haven? We were psyched to see this gopher tortoise.

It's hard to believe, but this was our first time in the water as a family!

We rented a beach stroller, which turned out to be a great thing. Wes was able to sleep when he needed to and I still got to play on the beach.

Dinner together

A first for both kids--popsicles! We were trying everything to get fluid into Wes because he was so dehydrated.

He wasn't too excited with the popsicle, though. Too cold.

Did I mention that Wes slept a lot? It was great. He also was very attached to his bunny. Sadly, now that we're home, he's back to his usual anti-sleep state.

And, we had a nice trip to the park. Can you tell they didn't have any fun at all?

We flew JetBlue and it was great! Wes loved the buttons and the TVs--especially the soccer game. He kept his eye on the ball. Home, sweet, home, here we come!
