A visit in CT

Just after returning from Florida, Wes and I went down to CT and spent a few nights with Grampy and Grandma and a few nights camping with Grammie, Grandpa, Great Grandma and Samantha. What fun we had!

Without a doubt, the highlight of our time with Grampy and Grandma was our visit to the aquarium!

Wes is at a great age where he's very content to just stop and look at one tank for 5, 10 or even 15 minutes and he doesn't pester about the Gift Shop. I'm enjoying this stage while it lasts.

In the marsh we saw several bullfrogs, tadpoles and turtles.

As we were leaving, Grampy and Grandma bought Wes a new book. He's very into Curious George right now (I'm not sure why, except maybe he thinks Mommy making the monkey sound is funny.), and this book features Curious George at an aquarium. In fact, the artist visited Mystic Aquarium and the drawings look just like it!

The best part about camping from Wes' perspective is the rocks.

He especially liked the sound they made when he banged them against the metal grill.

Mama' birthday cake. Wes learned how to blow out candles on this trip.

I think Wes spent hours adding rocks and other items to the in-case-of-fire bucket.

The campground we stayed at is a resort-type campground, complete with several pools, lots of playgrounds and ball fields and a very fun bouncy pillow.

Wes LOVED spending time with his cousin Sam--she was great to throw the ball toand blow bubbles with!

It's great to have a chauffer, isn't it? Especially when it's your Great Grandma!

We had a few thunderstorms during our few days there, and Wes REALLY enjoyed the puddles!

I didn't mind him splashing in the puddles so much, but I drew the line when he started playing with the mud and ?!?!? in the bottom of the puddles. Yuck.

Fortunately, rinsing off was another fun experience.

Thanks Grammie and Grandpa--we had a great time!

We said good-bye just before naptime so he'd sleep most of our way to Concord.

The plan worked! And, when he awoke, we were at the Acton Discovery Museum. It's specifically designed for kids under 5.

This was Wes' favorite thing--a dark cubby with a light table, some bright pink sand and some combs to make different designs.

The light-up steps weren't bad either.

The best part of our trip, though, was our last stop to pick up Daddy. We missed him!
