Day 8--our last day

Best seat in the house!This was our last day in DC and the only day Phil joined us for touristy stuff, so we let him chose where to go. He decided on the National Geographic Museum and the National Portrait Gallery.

Admittedly, Wes and I didn't see many portraits. I think he was pretty done with the whole museum thing by this point, but he LOVED their amazing courtyard. A perfect place for a little man to run!

Especially because there were four squares of running water in the courtyard, which Wes really got into.

Fortunately, we always pack a change of clothes, so we let him just enjoy the moment.

On the walk back we stopped for ice cream. This was the first time he ever asked for some, so we let him try it out. He liked it as much as his parents do!

We also enjoyed the rhythms of a street drummer. Sweet sounds!

So sweet. Wes' last night in his special bed.
